Get to know nephrologist Dr. Shadi Tarazi, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

Specializing in diseases of the kidney, kidney transplant, dialysis, and hypertension. Dr. Tarazi is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology. He is practicing with steward health care.

Likewise, he is a part of the faculty of the Internal Medicine residency program at Palmetto General Hospital. He continues to be part of the faculty at St. Elizabeth medical center in Boston. He is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Boston university and Adjuvant assistant professor of clinical medicine at Tufts university.   

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Tarazi graduated with his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2003. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at advocate illinois masonic medical center affiliated with the University of Illinois Chicago in 2008, and his fellowship in nephrology at UMass Chan Medical School in 2017.

With a passion for his profession, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being. Nephrology is a speciality of kidney disease, renal replacement therapy, hypertension, electrolyte imbalance and kidney transplant.
